Clr Mojaki, who is also a Reverend, has been active in community organisations and in politics since 1980. Organisations which he served include the Kagiso Residents’ Organisation, the United Democratic Front, COSAS for which he was branch organiser as well as COSATU in his capacity as NUMSA shop steward from 1985 to 1993.

He spent about 15 years in the private sector in various capacities including as Human Resources Officer for Fraser Alexander Tailings before focusing on his political career. In 2000 he was elected a ward councillor for the Mogale City local municipality, where he served until he was redeployed as a PR Councillor for the West Rand District Municipality (WRDM) in March 2006, following the local government elections.

He counts amongst his mentors Reverend Frank Chikane.

He has been chosen by the Council to head the Municipal Public Accounts Committee as Chairperson.
